The fabric has a surprising amount of give to it, so there's a stretch factor to really suck you in perfectly, plus some give for drinking and eating throughout the day.
Alterations
This dress was taken in at the waist and along the lower half to create more of a tight look as shown in the model photos - the sample dress had a much more relaxed sheath base.
