The Dress

I originally bought this dress for our big traditional wedding in Oregon in October 2020, and I ended up wearing it for our June Las Vegas elopement. It was so perfect! Thankfully it’s incredibly light weight (especially for being a ball gown) so it was easy to walk in, I didn’t sweat much and I was comfortable in it all night. My number one priority was to be comfortable in my dress - I didn’t want to stress about “sucking it in”, having limited movement or feeling “weighed down”. This dress was just so perfect and truly felt like my second skin! I felt stunning and timeless.

The bodice is made from mikado and the skirt is made with soft tulle and lined with polyester. It’s a ball gown but very, very light weight. It has a small train but not huge or long. I just used a little bit of fashion tape to keep the deep v in place and not have a nip slip - worked perfectly and didn’t even come off in the 108 degree heat during our elopement! I had it professionally cleaned and preserved.

Alterations

- Half an inch was taken off the length (I’m 5’2 but I wore 3 inch heels)
- Waist was taken in about 1.5-2 inches
- Bust was taken in (I am a 34A so small bust)
- Straps shortened (could very easily be replaced if too short)
- One bustle point added
