Brand new, unaltered wedding dress. Stella York 6690 in Ivory/Almond. Bridal size 18 (street size 12/14, but can be altered down up to 4 sizes or let out up to 2). Details about fit below! Will be crossposted on Facebook, preownedweddingdresses, and r/weddingswap. Comes with a garment bag. Third picture is the original floor sample I had tried on before ordering, all other pictures are of the actual new dress. All pictures are in the same colour.
I bought this for my wedding and then realized that this wasn't really me, so I went with something else! Unfortunately I realized this too late to cancel my order, so here she is. It's been tried on just once for very briefly so I could take pictures to show what this dress looks like on a not model and on a darker skin tone! I linked the website listing at the bottom, and it has more pictures of the dress in ivory on different body types than mine.
This wedding dress has a sweetheart neckline, a corset back, bra cups sewn in, and boning for extra support. It also came with removeable spaghetti straps. There is sequin detailing on the lace bodice, and the skirt has a layer of sequin tulle underneath the top layer, so when you walk you get a very pretty (but subtle!) twinkly effect. The lace detailing from the bodice is carried part way down the skirt as well.
I am 5"2" and curvy! The dress is a bridal size 18, and I wear a street size 12/14. The dress was sized to my largest measurement (bust). (Please note that bridal sizes run larger than street sizes!) The bridal shop told me that the dress could be altered down 4 sizes and up 2 sizes if needed. The cups can also be replaced as well. The dress has plenty of extra length so if you're taller than me you should be okay, even with heels!
Even though the dress is strapless, the boning and the corset back actually provide a lot of support and keeps everything in. I was able to move around and lift my arms without being afraid of accidentally flashing everyone lol! The corset back was also nice as it helped to cinch in and accentuate my natural waist which was very flattering!
There are 7 layers to the skirt, but it actually wasn't super heavy and I found it easy to walk around. However, it IS a ballgown so you still won't be able to move as freely as normal. You should be able to remove some of the underlayers during your alterations if you want to remove some of the poof and have a more a-line silhouette.
The dress is ivory over an almond underlay. In some light it'll look either pale ivory with a very light, subtle pink/peach undertone, very pale pink, or very pale peach. I have dark, medium neutral/warm toned skin with yellow undertones, and my partner is quite pale (except for his farmer's tan lol) with pink undertones. I have included close up pictures of the dress against both of our arms to show what it looks like against similar skin tones.
Again, the dress is totally new and unaltered! It is a truly beautiful dress, it's just not me. I'm hoping that this dress can find a home with another beautiful bride.
