The Dress

This brand-new, unworn dress was my absolute dream wedding dress. Unfortunately, COVID forced us to cancel our big wedding and have a small affair instead. This dress is so ethereal, romantic, and dramatic, it just didn't feel right anymore for our smaller ceremony. On top of that, we had to move the ceremony from an early spring/winter date to a summer one, so I would have been too hot in this dress. (The gown consists of a strapless A-line dress with a matching overlay jacket/bolero that, once on, seamlessly blends in with the dress to the point where you can't even tell it's a separate piece.) I personally prefer the dress long-sleeved, and wanted the full look for our wedding (which is why I didn't decide to then just wear it without the jacket for our smaller summer ceremony.)

This dress has never been worn and has zero alterations—it is brand-new from Monique Lhuillier. It is called the "Truly" gown, from Monique Lhuillier's 2020 Bridal Collection. I am (on average) a size 2-4 in clothing, and this dress is a size 6. My measurements are as follows:

Bust: 34
Waist: 26.5
Hips: 39

The base layer of this dress is a beautiful cream/nude, and the top layers and lace are white and feature gorgeous flower embroidery that has a subtle shine to it. The back is absolutely show-stopping, and when you move around in it, the embroidery catches the light and looks incredibly special. I am 5'6", and when I wear this dress with 4-inch heels, it is still too long because the hemline has never been altered. This will allow any bride to hem it to their perfect desired length.

Selling this dress is one of the hardest, most emotional things I've ever had to do. My heart broke when I realized I could no longer wear it in all it's glory. My hope is that some beautiful bride will buy it and give it a new home, and that it will get the festive wedding day it deserves!
