Fall 2019 Bridal Couture Collection
I purchased this dress from The White Dress in CDM, Newport Beach, CA in Fall of 2019 for $11,000. This 100% silk couture trumpet dress stole my heart immediately and I knew it was the one!
It has cap sleeves that rest just on the tip of the shoulder and a v-neck that shows just a little bit of cleavage (very classy sexy). It fits tight through the body with a flare of drama as the bottom flows out at the knee and pulls a good-sized train (about 5 ft. long). The dress has a very light ivory layer underneath and is covered with a delicate, bright white re-embroidered silk lace with silver lace details and tiny beads hand-beaded in that create a subtle sparkle when the dress catches the light.
Something that cannot be overstated is how beautiful the details of this dress are. The lace is absolutely gorgeous with three different patterns combined to create the most beautiful design. The beads are so tiny, they’re almost invisible, but they give off this subtle sparkle in the light that pictures just cannot do justice. (For a better look at the beads and the sparkle effect, check out the video!)
This dress is classy and elegant enough to make you feel like a beautiful bride, but has a sexiness to it that shows off your figure in all the right ways. When I put this dress on, I immediately thought "My fiancé's going to die when he sees me!" And full disclosure, he did!
The dress is a size 6 (although I normally wear a size 4 in dresses). I did get the waist taken in about 2 inches, and the length shortened by about 4-5 inches, and with those alterations, it fit like a glove! None of the fabric was cut off though, so the waist can be let out again, as well as the overall length. (My measurements are listed below to give you a size reference)
I wore this dress barefoot and the length was perfect, if not barely an inch long. For someone around my size, this dress will be perfect if you're going barefoot or with flats. If you're taller than me or my height and planning to wear heels, you have about 4-5 inches of extra fabric that can be let out to make it perfect for your height! (I included a picture of the bottom of the dress so you can see how much extra fabric there is case you need to let it out).
I also had a bustle added to the dress, which will definitely come in handy with that train!
Thanks to 2020, we had to postpone our wedding, and eventually opted for an intimate beach ceremony with our immediate family. Needless to say, this gorgeous dress has only been worn once, although I wish I could live in it forever! It also just went through a $600 cleaning to bring it back to it’s original pristine condition, so you won’t need to pay for another cleaning before your wedding!
Notes: I added one photo with the dress bustled so you can see how the bustle looks, and I tried to pick a variety of photos that show off the dress’s length, the train, and the details of the lace. The video and non-photographer photos show the dress as it is today, after cleaning. Rest assured, there are no stains or dinginess! I could only post 8 pictures, but I have many, many more that show this dress off. Feel free to reach out for more photos, questions, or to make an offer! And most importantly, congratulations on your engagement!!
