The Dress

I absolutely adored this dress! It was exactly what I wanted and it looked amazing on. Very comfortable for dancing all night long. Though I got it altered to fit my body type, it would be a perfect fit for anyone who is shapely yet on the petite side. The sleeves are completely lace so they do not stretch, but I had the seamstress leave some lag so I was still able to lift my hands and dance comfortably. Everything under the bust has some give, and waist down, under the lace, is stretchy material so it would fit any hip size, smaller or wider than me. I am 5'2 (with heels I was about 5'5 in the dress), 116lbs, wear a 32D bra and my every day clothes are S/M and 4 in pants (see alteration notes for more info on fit). I have thicker arms - there is extra lace where the sleeve comes together underneath, so you could either let more out or take more in if you have smaller arms. It has a beautiful train and simple bustle in the back for the reception. The lace on the butt is scrunched, giving the illusion of an even plumper booty. The open back is simply stunning and has plenty of space before it hits the butt, so you feel completely covered the whole time. The dip in between the chest comes down a good bit. Looking at me from the side, you could see a little cleavage; I had the seamstress pull it in as much as it could to make it a bit more modest. The label says no dry cleaning and to spot clean only, so that is what I did for any grass/dirt underneath the train leftover from walking through wet grass. Other than that, condition is immaculate - no stains or tears. Whoever wears this next will be so incredibly stunning in it and will LOVE looking back at pictures like I do now!! *Belt not included.

Alterations

I bought the dress off the rack as a size 12. The seamstress altered A LOT and said she brought it in to a size 2. Day-to-day, I am typically a 4. Since it started as a 12, the cups in the dress were very large and looked unnatural on me. The seamstress took them out, added an underwire along with tan cloth and lace for coverage - breast cups could easily be sewn back in!
