The Dress

This is a never-been-worn Marchesa Notte Bea from the Spring 2020 Bridal Collection (link: https://www.marchesa.com/products/excludegsc-bea). I purchased it in summer 2019 from Lovely Bride in NYC (link: https://lovelybride.com/dresses/marchesa-notte/bea/) for a spring 2020 wedding that never happened because of COVID, so it's never been worn outside of fittings. At the same time I purchased a Marchesa Notte veil (V041, also on same receipt) and customized it to connect not via comb (though I still have and can send the original comb) but to the bottom of the scoop back via snaps on the inside of the dress (see photos for snaps and also veil attached to hanging dress). I'm selling the dress and the veil together as-is, although the veil is removable/optional and could be reworked again to fit another way. The dress is a split size: 0 on top and 4 on bottom (though the skirt is A-line so accommodating). This dress will work well for someone either tall or petite but on the small side on top (I'm a 34A, about 120lbs at 5'5"). See below for a detailed description of where the tailoring left off; there's still need/room for some customization but overall it's a lovely, pristine dress waiting for its big day.

Alterations

The tailoring was nearly complete when COVID hit. What was finished: upper bodice adjustments, cups added, bow removed from front of belt (belt still on; we also created a tulle tie-around belt that is not connected to the dress at all but I will include as well), bow bustle added (see photos for 5 loops added to back of skirt and 5 buttons added to waistline to catch them). What WAS NOT finished: hem. I'm 5'5" barefoot and we were accounting for 5-inch heels, but the tailor never cut the bottom, so there's still lots of extra fabric length to work with.
