The Dress

New with tags, beautiful ivory silk pleated Modern Trousseau trumpet gown. Pleats flow gracefully from the sweetheart neckline of this elegant trumpet gown, and meet in gentle V shapes at the back seam. A ruffle of the same heavy silk taffeta trails from the left hip. Court length train. Zipper and covered buttons in back. Light and comfortable to wear.

This dress is originally from 2012; Modern Trousseau gowns are all designed and produced in the US, in CT, so this dress was made in the USA. I bought this for my 2022 wedding, and it doesn't quite fit -- I can zip it but can't sit down :) so I have to pass on this great find!

It is labeled a 12 but it's a SMALL bridal 12. Modern Trousseau doesn't currently post a size chart online. However, I have been trying on dresses lately and I fit pretty well into a size 12, and this dress is really tight, especially around the hips and bottom. My bridal seamstress opened the lining for me to check the seam allowance, and there is only about 3/4" seam allowance -- not much room to let out. So this is not a good choice to let out, but it can definitely go smaller!

This dress is a store sample, so it has a few spots of wear -- all easily repairable. The pleats are tacked in place with small stitches, which have come loose in three spots. (Bust shown in photo.) And there are some small smudges/marks on the train (looks like someone stepped on it): one on the outside, and a small tear on the train lining only. Last photo shows the outside train smudge and distance from the hem. I think it will come out with dry cleaning but can't guarantee.
