The Dress

This dress is 100% polished silk satin with 100% silk lining and is cream in colour. The top is 'blouson' style (there would be room for someone with a bigger bust than me) with a boat neck, split cap sleeves and a low V back. The dress is fitted through the waist and hips, then has two 'godet' panels of gathering which hang beautifully and make the fabric billow out in the breeze (perfect for a windy beach wedding). It was incredibly light and comfortable to wear. There is a loop to be able to carry the train. There is a zip fastening at the back. Re underwear, I wore some skin colour Spanx and a stick-on bra which were perfect. NB - I don't have the luxury of long hanging space, hence the bottom of the dress needs ironing. However the fabric irons beautifully.

The dress cames with an optional rose decoration which I didn't get. Instead I bought a jewelled decoration and had it stitched on with a ribbon which ties in a bow at the back at the bottom of the V.

This is such a beautiful dress that can be styled softly and a veil and flowers or can be more 'Great Gatsby' with red lippy.

The upper and middle sections of the dress are in wonderful condition. However due to my outdoor wedding, there are a number of stains and marks on the lower part which are reflected in the price.
For the most part, these are around the very bottom of the dress so if you're shorter than 173cm (5'8") and would be having it taken up anyway, then this will remove the majority of the issue. There is also a mark approx 50cm from the bottom of the train at the back, which is shown by an arrow in the last photo. Because of the fabric type, colour and the way the light reflects off it, it's pretty forgiving and I have to say it's only on close inspection of the fabric that I saw most of these marks.

I am happy to answer any specific questions about it. It's such a stunning dress that unless you're adamant about having something absolutely pristine, I think if this dress is shortened it will look stunning again.

Alterations

I had the dress taken up to fit my height. I'm 173 cm tall and wore flat shoes. I had the dress sewn to floor length at the front and it then goes longer into a train at the back.
I also had the dress taken in a fraction at the waist. My waist measurement is 27".
