The Dress
This dress is a timeless asymmetric classic in an elegant champagne color silk charmeuse. It was flattering to my pear shaped figure. I chose it in part because of how it highlights the back. The asymmetrical cut flatters wider hips. It has a softly pleated scoop front with the same soft silk folds carrying all the way around to a plunging back. The back is detailed with silk rosettes, rhinestones and pearls that peek just above the folds of silk. The right front detail is a 1” strap with a single silk rose accented with pearls and rhinestones. The left shoulder is covered with the silk folds. It has a small train that I had modified so that it can be hooked for dancing. There are a few very small snags in the silk and a few spots where the dress swept the floor.
Alterations
Left shoulder strap shortened slightly to keep from sliding off and interior eye hooks were added to the lining so that the train could be hooked up for dancing. No other alterations. I’m 5’7 and wore 3” heels.
