The Dress

My wonderful vintage inspired retro glam Annasul Y wedding dress deserves to be feasted upon by eyes again, and longs to help another bride feel fabulously chic and goddess-like.

The dress is bias-cut, so is comfortable, super flattering on curves and is amazing for movement! Made of ivory silk/ satin with fitted vintage looking lace deep v-neck camisole front, secured with Grecian-goddess styled straps gathered into plain un-embellished buckles, dropping into a sophisticated cowl loop to the lower back.

It includes a classy short train which does not hamper movement, and it looked fantastic with my retro custom-made blue satin platform sandals. As my wedding was bi-cultural, I wore different dresses for my ceremony and reception, and only changed into this beauty after dinner so it was worn (indoors in aircon) for only a few hours and is in immaculate condition.

The dress was purchased from Designer Bridal Room in Hong Kong in April 2013 for about USD [removed], AUD 2,900), dry-cleaned and lovingly kept for 8 years (in its original dust cover) with the ambitious hope that I would be able to convert it into an evening dress. It was hung up inside another airtight cover to keep humidity out (so current pix will show some creases which will easily steam out).

My bust is 34C/36B, my waist then was 29” and my hips 36”. I am currently about 2" larger on all of those but it is only the zipper part that doesn't close. This dress has an amazingly versatile fit capacity!

I am 5'2 (156cm) and the shoes I wore had 4"(10cm) heels. Although I have an athletic petite Asian build this gorgeous dress will suit both a more svelte and shapely figure.

Alterations

It was a UK size 12 originally – but after 2 fittings and adjustments (I had the usual pre-wedding weight loss), it is closer to a UK size 10 (US 8). Actual measurement of the dress's rib-cage fitting (under the bra-cup - for the camisole zip closure) is 28.5".
