The Dress

A sleek, modern bustier gown in the most soft and luxurious silk, the Monstera by Alena Leena is perfect for the modern Bride, featuring a statement geometric cut-out in the sweetheart neckline. The dress did come with thin silk straps that are detachable, but very sadly I cannot locate them! You could definitely get straps made. I did not wear the straps on the day and instead wore it as a strapless dress. Looks beautiful both ways, depending on the look you are going for. I also customised the dress by adding a right thigh split to my knee, a great decision for dancing! I purchased the dress from Love Marie Bridal in Camden and paired the dress with the Kyha Studios Millie Skirt (also listed on StillWhite), which was an amazing statement combo as the pleated tulle complemented the pleated design of the bustier cups. My alterations were done at My Private Tailor in Sydney, the length taken up at the front, the train shortened a touch and the addition of a bustle and cups. The dress is a size 6, however the bustier cups are a size 8 and the added cups are removable. I am 167cm high and my shoes were 10cm for length reference. The dress has been dry-cleaned, it has a couple of very, very faint discoloured spots on the inside of the dress at the very bottom that I must disclose, but they are not noticeable to the naked eye.
