The Dress

The free is absolutely gorgeous for a winter wedding full of candlelight. I wanted something that would be uplifting and with some warmth in the candlelight .... the satin undlerlay is luxurious on the skin, and the embroidered overlay gives some robustness to the dress. It has a small train and a lovely open back so you feel like a superstar when you wear it. This dress is a size 10 and almost fitted perfectly straight off the shelf - so if you have tried a halfpenny then you will have a sense of the shape. I had some minor alterations made (see below) to make it fit perfectly.

Alterations

I had this dress taken in very slightly at the waist, slightly shortened and the straps shortened a little. I am 5ft 6.5 and wore it with 3 inch heels. The dress just skimmed the floor with heels on. I also has some very small iridescent beads embroidered on to the dress to capture the candlelight: it was a winter wedding. I also had a loop and a string fitted so the back of the dress can be rouched up for dancing.
