The Dress

A dreamy, romantic dress worn one time on wedding day. I would describe it as a blush-champagne color, but in different lighting, the color becomes more ivory colored with a slight nod to blush. Check out the dress on the BHLDN website to really appreciate the details--I love love love the beadwork, the layers of glittering tulle, and the leg slit!

The day itself was cool, not hot and/or humid. Very bottom of hem has light signs of wear--I went through the dress thoroughly and only noted 1x 1 centimeter in diameter dirt spot at the very bottom of dress (i.e. you wouldn't notice it unless you sat down for an hour and really looked at every layer) which was likely incurred during the last photo during sunset photographs. If you're shorter than me and need to re-hem the dress, this will be a non-issue, but even if you're the same height, it really isn't noticeable at all. The remainder of the time wearing the dress was at the venue and truly is in excellent condition.

I initially planned for the dress to be dry cleaned; however, I was told that the glitter would be at high risk of coming off (which gives the dress some shimmer), so I opted to keep the dress in its original form. Dress will be packaged in its original box and bag from BHLDN.

Alterations

My dress tailor was Marina from Le Caprice in Cupertino, CA, who is a pro at what she does!

1. Hem shortened to be floor length - I am 5'4.5" and wearing the Bella Belle Evelyn 3" heels.
2. Hook & eye bustle added - Pictured in first 2 photos. I personally thought this bustle was the perfect addition to the dress. I went to Marina not knowing anything about the kind of bustle that would work for this, and she just created magic. Last 2 photos show full length of dress with train.
3. Straps/waist/bust taken in very slightly. I think wedding dresses in general are made for people that are much taller, so if your sizing is similar to mine, this would be great and save you some $ on getting these alterations done.
