The Dress

Gorgeous Grace Loves Lace Megan wedding gown for sale.

I bought this incredible gown off Still White in 2020 from a 2019 bride and wore it for my February 2021 wedding. I am hoping it can have a third life with another bride who will love wearing it as much as I did. As described below, it is in very good condition.

I absolutely adored the stunning modern rose lace and the beautiful movement of this dress. The crossover straps and fitted bodice are very flattering. I received many complements on the lace and unique nature of this dress. My sister described it as a “boho fairy princess dress” and I certainly felt like a princess wearing it. I also loved the relaxed yet glamorous feel of it, which was perfect for an outdoor summer wedding in Perth, Western Australia. It was very comfortable to wear and moved beautifully for sitting, walking and dancing. My husband adored this feminine and sexy dress. I loved that I could wear any underwear I liked as nothing could show through the layers of this dress. I could also eat and drink as much as liked as the A-line layers covered everything.

The dress is ivory and has a fitted bodice and waist. It has built in cups so no bra is needed. It has a 3 layered full circle skirt with side split and 60cm train (without finger loop). The top layer is the exclusive abstract rose embroidery on an open thread geometric stretch lace as base lace. The middle layer is a 100% silk chiffon layer and the bottom layer is the satin lining. There is bubble spot cotton embroidered trim on the bust. This was originally on the straps but had to be altered as outlined below. It could be added back on.

The dress was altered by the first bride and by me as outlined below to make sure it fit perfectly.

The first bride added a bustle and you can see I have it bustled up on the two dancing photos. This made it easier to move while still showing off the train.

The first bride also brought in the bottom of the back, so it sits a little higher than the original Megan.

Our adventurous photographer and videographer made the most of the outdoor settings, so the dress did need a good clean. As advised by Grace Loves Lace, the dress has been handwashed and has come up spotless and beautifully white. However, the top lace layer has come a little undone in some parts mostly on the edges (as visible in the last photograph). These are barely noticeable when the dress is worn but could be tidied up/trimmed.

Original Grace Loves Lace box and bag included.

Veil not available – borrowed from my sister-in-law, brand unknown. However, the Henri veil by Grace Loves Lace would be similar and a beautiful match.

Alterations

First bride’s alterations as noted above:

-Bustle added.
-Back brought up and slightly higher, meaning straps were shortened, as the dress was too loose for her.

My alterations by Faith of Whitework Alteration: https://www.whitework.com.au/

-Bodice was removed and reattached to lengthen torso slightly as previous bride had a shorter torso.
-Bra padding removed as it was too much for my small frame and smaller cups added (I am a 10C in bra).
-Straps removed and used as trim on the bodice.
-New straps added, which is why there is no bubble spot cotton on the straps. If you want to add it back on, you can purchase trim from https://www.jimmybuttons.com.au/ in Melbourne for less than $20 including shipping.
-Dress was shortened as I was shorter than the original bride.
