The Dress

This dress was custom made in 2000 and was inspired by a Libby Nalor design. It is silk white with crystal beading around the top of the bodice. The bodice is boned and hand beaded. The dress is made of numerous panels of pure silk and flares out into an A-line shape but drapes and moves beautifully due to all the panels. There is tuiling under the skirt.

I was a size 6-8 at the time, 170 cm tall and wore 2 cm heels. The skirt just skimmed the ground and the bodice was very tight fitting.

The dress was worn once, then it was dry cleaned and has been stored in acid free tissue ever since. The dress is in good condition given its age. There is a tiny bit of discolouration on the top of dress where it sits under the arms so it may need to be spot cleaned. There is a tiny gap in one of the bodice seams that needs a couple of stitches. I'm very happy for it to be tried on.

I loved wearing this dress but it has been sitting in storage for over 20 years which seems like a waste. It would make an excellent deb dress for someone. Feel free to get in touch if you have any other questions.
