The Dress

From Andrea Hawkes's Pavello collection, this is the popular 'Elizabeth' design. It's handmade from bias cut silk which drapes and moves beautifully. It has a really lovely chevron waistline which gives the dress an elegant shape, deep V back with button detail, and a chapel-length train which I had bustled with an 'American'-style bustle, which hitches up in one place on the outside of the skirt at the back.

The dress has never been worn but the designer had it dry cleaned by a specialist dry cleaner after they had made alterations.

I bought this dress for my winter wedding in early 2021 but had to postpone due to Covid. I hate to part with it but it really deserves to be worn instead of hanging in my closet!

The dress fit me comfortably and I am normally a clothes size 10/dress size 12. You can find many other photos on various models as well as real brides with a Google search for 'Andrea Hawkes Elizabeth'.

Alterations

Has been hemmed for me to wear flat shoes (I am 5'8" without shoes) and there is a bustle for the train. Otherwise unaltered from the designer's standard size 12.
