The Dress

Stunning 'Cinderella' ballgown. NEVER WORN. Ivory / sheer. Full romantic tulle ballgown skirt. Skirt has lace detail extending down from the bodice at the waist and hips and swarovski crystal embellishment. Individual swarovski crystals scattered across top layer of tulle (hand placed). Sheer bodice (no bones or cups) with detailed lace and crystal embellishment. Photo's don't do the dress justice, the beadwork / lace is beautiful. Lovely full train. The dress ('Alice') was ordered from Brides in the City, Glasgow in a standard UK size 10 but has been customised. See below.

I purchased this dress in February 2019, my wedding was originally planned for June 2020 but was postponed due to Covid. I had the dress customised as detailed below and I had final alterations done in February 2020. I am 5"4 (162cm)however alterations were carried out in a 4" heel (total height 172cm - dress was hemmed at this height). I am a uk size 8-10 bust (approx 37" / 94cm), 31" / 78.5cm waist and uk size 12-14 hips (approx 40" / 101.5cm). We've had to change our wedding plans twice due to Covid and sadly I've had this dress for so long that I've now changed my mind about what I want. A lot of money was spent on this dress, I hope for some body to love it as much as I once did. It really is beautiful.

The dress was originally purchased for £1200, and £350 was spent on customisation and alterations. Original receipts available.

Dress was professionally steamed and bagged following alterations and has been hanging since it was brought home. Non smoking household. Hoop not included.

Alterations

V-neck and V-back dropped further
Lining and cups removed to make bodice sheer (needs to worn with appropriate underwear*)
Swarovski crystals added to top layer of tulle for extra sparkle, hand placed.
Straps narrowed.
Clear mesh removed which was covering decolletage area.
Heavy satin under skirt removed to make skirt softer
Stunning sheer 3/4 sleeves CUSTOM MADE with the same lace and swarovski detail to complement the bodice, sleeves attach easily to the straps with concealed buttons - sleeves were made for the ceremony but my plan had been to remove them for the evening to achieve 2 different looks.
Concealed button fasteners hand sewn into the inside of dress to secure underwear straps / prevent slippage and visibility
Dress can be worn with or without hoop
No bustle, but you could have this added quite easily

*I purchased the perfect complementary underwear online from a London based designer, happy to provide exact details of this
