The Dress

Stunning Stella York wedding dress, approx size NZ 10 (this is what I usually am). Worn very carefully for my wedding recently, gorgeous dress with incredible detailed beading and lace, in colour Ivory (a creamy white). Purchased from Alma J Bridal in Mt Eden for around $2600

Size on the label is 10, I think this might be the US size (but wedding dresses are notoriously much smaller than their US size). Might fit a small NZ size 12 - but I'm usually size 10 in dresses. V Neck with beaded straps, and has moulded cups with some padding. I'm size 12B but would fit C easily or if you removed the padding a D.

Long train with lace. What I loved about this dress was that it wasn't too heavy - the train is lace, not layers of lining too, so it was very comfortable to wear. However, it's still thick-ish in the body part so it's super flattering on, unlike the Grace Loves Lace type dresses that were quite thin and clingy when I tried them on.

Dress hasn't been altered at all, as I fit the sample size they had in store. I'm 173cm tall and wore low heels (about 6cm) and that was the perfect length, but it could easily be adjusted and shortened by bridal shops/seamstress (the lace applique is made to be taken up if needed).

I haven't had it dry cleaned. No major marks, although the bottom of the dress has a few light marks from the ground. Another option would be to soak the bottom edges of the dress in a bath (??) with a gentle detergent or something?

There is just one tiny hole in the tule at the bottom - pictured - less than a cm large, which again could be easily fixed (or covered with lace applique, especially if you're shortening it). But it isn't really noticeable being that it's the bottom of the dress. Other than that it's in great condition.

Try ons available for serious buyers - i.e. if it fits well you'd buy it, not just looking around - as unfortunately I don't have a lot of time to be at home for this.

Such a beautiful dress - far nicer than some of the $5000 ones I tried!
