The Dress

“The Gershwin” from Johanna Johnson’s S/S 2013 collection is a stunning French lace dress handmade by the talented team at the Johanna Johnson boutique store in Paddington, Sydney.

This style is no longer available to buy new so I’m hoping to make a bride-to-be’s dream come true by selling my beautiful wedding gown with the hope that someone else will get as much enjoyment out of it as I did.

I wore this dress on my wedding day in Sicily in June 2014 and it has been cleaned and carefully stored ever since.

I felt a million dollars wearing it on my big day and almost everyone has commented on how striking and unique it is. This really is special dress and in the 12 months of wedding dress shopping I never come across anything else like it.

The dress is very easy and comfortable to wear. The design and perfect cut means it lies loose against the body, whilst still providing a chic and slimline silhouette.

The overlay is 100% ivory French lace from Paris and the underlay is made from a slightly darker ivory silk.

The V-line neck and low V-line back along with padded, cap sleeves create a sophisticated and elegant yet sexy and contemporary finish to what is a fairly vintage-type looking dress.

I am a small size 8, 164 cms tall and wore 3.4 inch heels. The bodice would suit a B-D size bust and further alterations can be made.

The dress is in great condition with no holes or tears to the lace. There are some small marks on the silk underlay which will fade with further cleaning.
