The Dress

This elegant, structural dress is a flattering statement gown.

From GYC's 'Nolita' 2019 Ready to Wear collection, the 'Met' gown has a mini mesh overlay in white with white silk underlay with a structured inner bodice built into the gown with a concealed zip back.

GYC sure knows how to dress a girl with curves. The strategic ribbing in the skirt enhances, flatters and flows beautifully - whilst remaining very light! One shouldered to draw the eye upwards, the bodice sits flush against the body with boning inside ensuring everything stayed in place and secure with no lumps or bumps showing from any angle, while being very easy to wear. The mesh overlay creates structure without being overwhelming with detail.

Lightweight and easy to dance in, movement was effortless and there are no bad angles in this gown. I wore it for the ceremony and reception and felt so comfortable the whole time.

It has been professionally cleaned, has a dress bag and comes boxed. I am an Australian size 14 (Country Road size 12) - smaller waist, bigger bust and bottom half. I am a size DD - E in the bust - the dress can easily be taken in for a smaller bust. I am 178cm tall and wore small heels - the hem was just off the ground.

Alterations

- Fitted underlining to be slightly more A-line (was more flowing previously).
- Small split in back to allow walking, not restrictive
- Very slightly shortened skirt to make it easier to walk in (bottom layer of frill lifted accordingly)
- Bustle and wrist loop added
