The Dress

It was a tough decision to let this dress go but I would love to give a bride the opportunity to wear such a unique and stunning dress!

Husband and I are huge fans of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, so wearing this dress on our wedding day meant so much to me :’) (I walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of ‘People Ain’t No Good’ hahaha it was beautiful!)

This dress is an ivory lace version of their iconic Festival Dress (as seen on celebrities like Alexa Chung, Kate Middleton, Susie Cave herself). The Vampire’s Wife doesn’t actually have a bridal collection, this dress was part of their Frill Seeker collection launched in March of 2020. I purchased this dress from their website in late September for $3,100 USD tax included.

I felt so incredibly comfortable and beautiful on our wedding day! I received so many compliments especially on how unique and effortless the dress looked (I’ve always imagined myself in designer RTW on my wedding day). The dress shape is so flattering with its form fitting bodice, cinched at the waist, quarter length sleeves, and “street-sweeping” hemline. No fussy train so I was able to move and walk comfortably.

Due to COVID we didn't have a reception and the dress was only worn during the ceremony, about 2 hours total. We celebrated our wedding late in December. The dress was dry cleaned immediately after our wedding day and so much care was given to ensuring the dress doesn’t lose its integrity! I will send the dress in its original box, tissue and labels it came with.

Alterations

Dress was hemmed at the bottom to match my frame. I’m 5’4 and wore 4 inch heels. The hemline just about touched the floor. The length from waste to hemline is about 44 inches (112 cm).
