Classic, romantic, and elegant, I felt amazing in this dress. The satin lining was very smoothing and flattering, I didn't need any additional undergarments (I did wear 'something blue' but it honestly is the only thing to cause the dress to bunch at the hips in some photos). The only alteration added is a French bustle and a small elastic strip around the top lace that keeps it laying flat - this was mostly a precaution in case the scalloped lace 'wilted' during the night. It didn't! It has been professionally dry cleaned and sealed in a bag since after the wedding.
