The Dress

*New, unaltered gown!* I ordered this gown right before the pandemic hit and never wore it. It was actually a second gown that I was going to wear instead of my first gown. My now-husband and I ended up canceling our wedding and instead had an intimate ceremony in our living room. I ended up wearing my first dress after all, as I wasn't able to have this one altered.

This Allure style 9608 gown has draped, off-the-shoulder straps, a sweetheart neckline, with a gorgeous mermaid body that gives a soft, sexy, and elegant look. I LOVED the feeling in this dress. I felt classic yet sexy and feminine. My favorite part is the buttons ALL the way down the back of the dress and chapel train.

The Mikado fabric gives it a beautiful and dynamic shine regardless of the lighting. The color is Almond, which adds to its beautiful, unique glow. I think they did a poor job naming the color, because I wouldn't call it "almond". I would describe the dress more of an off-white. In certain lighting, the dress even has an iridescent touch to it, which is thanks to both the color and the fabric.

There is a built-in corset that helps accentuate the hour-glass figure in the dress. The sweetheart neckline was also flattering for my smaller chest.

I was planning to have cups sewn in to help with my smaller chest. The bust area is the main part of the dress that I would've needed to alter to have taken in. I'm 5'9" and was planning to wear 1.5"-2" heels, which was just fine, so I wouldn't need to shorten the dress at all.
