The Dress
I originally purchased this dress in 2018 from the Jenny Packham flagship store on Carlos Place.
The Mariana dress comes with the design option of a tail, which I opted for because (in my view) it has a more flattering form and gives it that extra special bridal dress touch. What also drew me to the dress was the use of silk and the detailed beading unique to JP designs.
I'm an average UK size 10 and at 5ft 7in tall (170cm), with an extra allowance for my 4 inch (10.5cm) heel wedding shoes, the only alteration we had to make was to take a little under 1cm off the original hem of the dress. Besides that, the dress is pretty much in its original form.
The dress was also very comfortable to wear and carry on the plane. It luckily didn't suffer much collateral damage from all the dancing either, but I did lose a few beads around the tail. Immediately after the wedding, I had the dress professionally repaired at JP and cleaned. I was even given a spare packet of beads, which will come with the dress, so the dress is as good as new.
I have been debating whether to sell this dress for the last 2 years, but I also think that giving another bride the opportunity to wear it again is the best way of honouring this wonderful dress.
The dress has been stored in the original JP dress bag, from a pet and smoke free home. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
