The Dress

Bought new and worn in August 2019. Morilee by Madeline Gardner for £1150. I am a UK size 8, bra size 30E and 5 foot 7 inches tall and it fitted like a glove straight off the rack - at my fitting with the seamstress I measured 33.5 inch bust, 28 inch waist, 38.5 inch hips. VERY minor alterations made to lift the front slightly although I'm 5' 7" and wore it with a 3 inch heel so it retains nearly all of the original length with plenty of scope to adjust for its next wearer. The bodice is boned and has had padded cups inserted to give slight lift and support around bust - these can be easily removed or adjusted.

It feels INCREDIBLE on - the hourglass silhouette is amazing, and the ruffles and train are stunning. Really easy to take on and off despite all the buttons on the low back (hidden zip!). Pictures don't do it justice!!! It's in perfect condition - no tears or stains and has been professionally dry cleaned at considerable expense to ensure it is ready for resale. The boning on the bodice gives an amazing shape but also moves really well with your body (I was in it for over 12 hours, sitting and dancing, with no discomfort!). There is a hidden loop to bustle the train for later in the day and then the ruffles just fall evenly front to back.

It's the kind of dress which makes YOU look amazing, as opposed to you making the DRESS look amazing - in some ways it's quite simple but gives the most incredible shape and figure and the ruffles are such a statement. It makes SUCH an entrance and I can't wait for it to make someone else feel the way it did me!

I also have a hooped petticoat which was bought separately to be worn underneath which holds the ruffles out and enables easy walking and am happy to include this in the sale price as it goes with the dress. There are hooks internally in the bodice of the dress to hold the petticoat in place so it doesn't slip down.

Alterations

Minor - slight lift to front hem (I am 5 foot 7 and wore 2 inch heels so it was just lifted at the front to avoid a trip down the aisle!)
Minor - padded cups inserted to bust and sides taken in / contoured very slightly around top of bodice - easily readjusted.
