The Dress

I recently got married this past June 2020 and wore this Vera Wang Bridal Fall 2013 Runway Collection Gown that I purchased new. The tag size says 8 but I altered the dress to my normal size, US 4. This dress is an ivory silk georgette and silk faille V-neck halter dress. The dress has a side zipper and a hook closure at the top neck area hidden by the ivory pom pom. Zipper can slightly stick in area by waistline where pearls were added but I was able to fit into the dress with no issue. The ivory lace bodice, the lace panel in the back and strip of pearls running down the back of the dress were so elegant. I received so many compliments! I had the woman who did my alterations add in the bra cups (size B-C) and custom added the pearls to the back fabric and waistline of the dress. There is so much beautiful tulle at the bottom of the dress that it felt like I was floating. The design is meant to have a jagged/uneven look to the tulle train and front...Vera Wang knows how to make a beautiful dress! Some of the tulle is longer in certain areas of the hemline. This dress is gorgeous and I felt so beautiful wearing it! I just had it freshly dry-cleaned. The dress will be shipped in a white storage zipper bag provided by the dry cleaner for preservation. The length of the dress was approximately 60” in front and 80” including the back tulle train (not wearing shoes). I am approximately 5’8”. Many celebrities have worn the black version of this dress-see Shenae Grimes!

Alterations

I had the dress altered from a Size 8 to my size of a US 4. I also had custom pearls added to the back strip of fabric and the front waistline. The Pom Pom Hook closure was original to the dress. I also added the built in cups to the dress so that I didn’t have to worry about my bra showing in pictures, etc.
