The Dress

Stunning one of a kind Ian Stuart dress never worn! Colour on label is named as honey but I would describe it more as a silvery blush almost mink. Dress has fitted corset (no need for bra) fits and ruches at waist then tiers out at hips, 3 tiers in total and entire dress decorated with embellished lace motifs. Fastening on the back of dress is zip with buttons that do up above. I adore this dress but unfortunately after having my baby I don’t fit into it anymore and decided to go for a completely different style (more practical for carrying around a baby in the summer heat) Fabric of dress isn’t stated on label just mentions polyester but I would describe it as taffeta or crinkle manmade silk. It is quite a heavy dress due to amount of fabric and length, I am 5 foot 3 and would of needed a good few inches taken off as well as about 2cm off each strap. Although dress is size 10 it’s more true to a size 8, I could just about squeeze into it and do it up but wasn’t comfortable. I brought the dress last year from a boutique that collects and sells vintage Ian Stuart gowns. Dress would benefit from a dry clean and steam but no noticeable damages apart from a few beads missing and couple of the elastic button holes have snapped, I wouldn’t mind sorting some of these things myself if it helped to secure a quick sale and wasn’t too costly.
