The Dress

This gorgeous Caine gown by Watters (sold out at BHLDN) is comfortable and universally flattering (google photos of brides in Caine!). Perfect for a variety of settings - but I wore this as my reception dress at a warehouse wedding. Worn for 5 hours and dry cleaned by a professional wedding dress cleaner here in Melbourne.

The original dress had slightly larger, exaggerated bell sleeves, but I took out some of the fabric to better fit my frame. The result was a sleeker, more modern and timeless dress.

I felt amazing in this dress and got so many compliments.

Really hoping someone else will be able to enjoy. This is the PERFECT reception dress or also good for pared-down ceremonies for brides in the time of COVID.

Alterations

I took in about a quarter of the fabric for the bell sleeves, making them less exaggerated, and the dress was also taken in at the waist about .5 inches, to make it more form fitting (purchased a size 6, I'm typically around a size 6-8). The length was not hemmed (I am almost 5'10" and wore 1" heels). There is extra room in the alterations to take the dress out, and to make the sleeves bigger again if need be. This is a very easy dress to alter! The alterations helped make dress look sleeker and sexier.
