The Dress
A wedding dress inspired by the garden
Handmade made-to-measure wedding dress created in 1990 from Joan Gilbert Bride, a San Francisco couture bridal salon. Vintage.
Approximate measurements:
50 " long (so between tea length and ankle length depending upon your height)
28 "-30" waist (but bodice material has 'give')
44" from v-neck to hem
20" shoulder to shoulder
Worn once and Preserved in an Heirloom Box specifically for wedding dresses
Material is a combination of silk, taffeta, polyester. Color is a combination of ivory/cream/white; the silk bodice is white and the taffeta underlay is more cream colored cascading from darker (to match the rose) to lighter. Taffeta underskirt gives a flare to the bottom portion of the dress. Taffeta can also be redone or removed for a different effect. There is a little cream colored rose on the back of the dress which can be modified or replaced.
This dress is ultra feminine and unique. It is very form fitting through the bodice so it shows off the waist to a tee.
Since it was handmade there are no tags indicating Size/Materials/Care but it would be considered a Small. By today's measurements I would say it's a Size 4 to a Designer Size 6 (since Designer sizes generally run smaller).
