The Dress

Hey, Beautiful: Congrats on your upcoming Wedding!

This dress is Brand New, Never-Been-Worn, Never-Been-Altered, and still with its Tags. It was a wedding dress option for me, but I ended up going with a different gown. It's got a beautiful weight and feel, and I love the fabric-technology that the skirt is comprised of -- it's so modern and sculptural, unlike any other you've seen, I'm sure. The dress has pockets, too. Pockets! For your lipstick, phone, or tissues. :-)

The dress's retail price was $4500 USD on Moda Operandi. I am pricing it to sell and I am open to offers, as I would like my Mom to get some of her money back on this...!

Even though it was non-refundable, we purchased it as a wedding dress option because I loved the idea of this gown so much, wanted to go all-in on the idea of wearing it for the wedding day, and then altering/styling it for wear beyond (at fancy events and such). But, my family and now-husband and I decided to have a destination wedding, and I needed a simpler dress to pack and carry with me on the plane. So, It's time this dress lived its best life beyond my closet. It deserves better -- it deserves you!

I truly believe this is a dress that could be hemmed for wear at fancy events beyond your wedding -- for art/theatre nights, or feeling modern, midi, and cool for galas and parties. Save the hemmed fabric for other flourishes on white tops or skirts (I'm a retired adjunct professor of fashion, and I love stuff like this).

I've seen fun brides make modifications to the bodice, including a keyhole-back alteration, and I considered making this into a one-shoulder dress -- but, rest assured this dress is untouched and unworn aside from trying it on inside the home, and it's got a great base for alterations.

Toni Maticevski is an awesome Australian designer whose label is carried at contemporary fashion retailers, and if this is going to be one of the big purchases in your life, it's awesome to own a piece like this and wear it more than once. How cool of a story would it be to return compliments at events by saying "Oh, Thank you. This dress has pockets, too, *and* I wore this on my wedding day..!"

* Please note, too: * On this dress I am listing, its back zipper is not white, but a pretty and rich gunmetal color. Not sure if the design team changed the color from white for photos, to gunmetal once the dress went to mass-market, but, this is how I received it. It can be replaced by you or your tailor.
