The Dress

This modern fishtail dress has a beautiful fitted bodice that goes past the hips with an intricate lace design and embroidered subtle beads and pearls. It is finished with Chantilly lace appliques. The back has buttons down it. The lace straps are removable. Breasts are a bit padded.

Comes with a free underskirt, fitted to same waist (70cm).

The train can be hooked up at the back of the dress to keep out the way when dancing. There is also a ribbon on the train that can go around your wrist, to hold the train up easily yourself when dancing too.

It felt really comfortable to me. I had tried similar fishtail dresses and I preferred the fact that this one held its shape with the bodice, rather than a thinner material that would have just clung to me. This made me feel more relaxed on the day and not having to worry about if I was sucking in my stomach enough.

When bending and sitting down it is a bit stiff in the area around the hips, as you would expect, and it does need to be pulled up slightly to enable you to sit down. But I think this is the case for a lot of wedding dresses. When standing it's fine and I was able to still do a first dance which involved active moves (it was not a slow dance!).

Alterations

It was a size 10 and I got it fitted to my size which is an 8, so it is now an 8. I had the lace straps made specially for it. I think they look great but they are removable, so it can be with them or it can be strapless.

My seamstress put in a hook to enable the train to be held up at the back for dancing. My seamstress was absolutely amazing, she did a great job.
