The Dress

This is a bespoke version of the original Claudia design by Sassi Holford. Purchased at Ellie Sanderson (Beaconsfield) we worked with the designer to create an alternative top to the dress - a french lace top overlay with clear mesh support.

The V shaped lace neckline is supported by a very fine clear mesh fabric which fills the front V shape. The mesh itself has a higher, round neckline. You can only see this up close and in certain light, but it meant the top and the front of the dress was more secure and the sleeves stayed in place as the back is an open lace V.

Underneath the lace top, the original dress has shaped bra cups with thin spaghetti straps.

The back of the dress is an open V shape, with traditional silk buttons down the centre top part of the skirt.

The lace top meets a high waist panel of silk crepe.

The main fabric of the dress is ivory silk crepe, which falls and flows beautifully.

The dress is lined with two thin petticoat under layers.

The train has two finger loops to lift it off the floor when you choose.

The dress has been professionally dry cleaned by a bridal specialist. There are some faint marks at the bottom of the train which have not come out.

The hip measurement provided is low hip. High hip measurement is 91 cm.

Alterations

As mentioned, this is a bespoke version of the original Claudia design by Sassi Holford. Purchased at Ellie Sanderson (Beaconsfield) we worked with the designer to create an alternative top to the original capped sleeved dress. We created a new french lace top overlay with clear mesh support, and full short sleeves instead of cap sleeves.

We added two finger loops to the train to lift it off the floor later at night. The dress was also fitted with an additional clear button at the back of the waist panel to create a centre bustle for the train at the back of the dress. However, I chose not to use this in the end or have the rest of the bustle created. You could still do this if you wanted to as an alternative to using the finger loops.
