The Dress

My gorgeous, vintage-look Cymbeline Issey dress was an absolute dream to wear - so light and comfortable I wore it twice (on our wedding day, and then two days letter for our blessing)! Despite being fairly attached to it, I'd love to see it go to a good home so that another bride can enjoy it on their special day.

The dress has a beautiful, unusual Queen Anne neckline with delicate capped lace sleeves. The skirt consists of layers of French lace with a slight kick at the bottom - which can be accentuated for a fuller mermaid shape with a petticoat. It has a sheer keyhole back with pearl-like buttons, and a small train (that won't get in the way!).

I swapped the original sash (which matched the lace from the dress) with a thin removable satin sash, and wore a tailormade petticoat to give the dress a little extra shape at the back. I will happily include both sashes and the petticoat with the dress. I also have a tailormade fingertip-length veil with matching lace edging available.

The dress has been lovingly washed with gentle detergent by an experienced friend. There are some minor grass stains on the inside bottom layers of the dress - none of which are on the outside lace layers or visible when the dress is on.

Alterations

I had the size 8 dress taken up from the bottom, in at the shoulders and just a little around the bum for extra shape! I also had small pads sewn in to the front but these could easily be removed or replaced with a backless bra.
