The Dress

I am 5’ 6” and wore flats at my wedding in the photos you see here.

The top has an illusion neckline with lace. There is ribbing around the stomach to make it look fitted and smooth - very flattering even after a few days straight of eating and drinking without being too restrictive. It has a low cut back. The dress was very comfortable and I never had to worry about it shifting while I was wearing it or falling down while dancing, etc.

The bottom has a white base layer that fits closer to the hips and goes straight to the ground. The sheer outer layer falls further from the body, and makes up the train. The fact that the white base layer is floor length vs being part of the train, allows for the beautiful look of a train while keeping the dress lightweight so that it wasn’t too heavy to walk/dance in, or to travel with. (I had a destination wedding so carried it all around multiple airports on the way to Italy.)

It has been professionally dry cleaned which removed the stains from the hem from wearing it that night.

Alterations

The alterations made the white base layer tighter around the hips (but still loose at the bottom so that it was easy to walk in) and they added ribbing around the stomach, and added nude cups around size D/DD. I also had additional lace added around the stomach/ribs - making this dress one of a kind to anyone else who purchased the original Mon Cheri version!

*new note* alternations also added a button-style bustle that was very easy to attach - it brings the train up to match the level of the rest of the dress for dancing. There is also a ribbon on the end of the train if you want to hold it or put it around your wrist when walking before you implement the bustle.
