The Dress

White by Vera Wang David’s Bridal Wedding Dress. Condition is Used. Dispatched with Parcelforce with up to £1000 for loss or damage (depending on sale price). I’ll ship it within 3-5 days of purchase unless you need it expedited. I also offer local delivery in the Hitchin/Letchworth/Baldock/Royston area with no extra shipping fee.

The dress label says size 2 because it’s a US size. The David’s Bridal conversion chart says it is a size 6 and I found this to be true to size for me.

This is a wonderful ivory coloured ball gown dress and made me feel absolutely beautiful on the day of my wedding. It was early August and around 34C and I still felt calm and cool in it. I wore a different dress for dancing so it isn’t sweat-ridden and rumpled.

I will say that I had trouble walking up stairs if I didn’t lift the dress but I kind of felt like Cinderella as I did it so I didn’t mind.

I’ve had it professionally cleaned and from the outside there’s no stains. On the internal lining there’s slight discolouration but it can’t be seen from the outside since the layers of tulle cover it. To be honest I couldn’t see anything inside either after getting it cleaned but I don’t want to risk it if you’re in broad daylight - maybe you could see something on the internal side. I couldn’t in my house though.

I’m 5ft 5in and the dress was altered to fit me when I wore 3.5 inch heels. It probably could have gone shorter for my liking but I didn’t want to mess with the integrity of the external layers.

Unfortunately due to Covid-19 I can't allow you to try it on at my home or in London but I'm extremely considerate if you buy it and find out it doesn't fit to your liking. I'll happily take it back and refund you as long as it's within 3 days of buying it that you've contacted me and you are willing to pay for shipping back.

This dress has been carefully stored in the hopes that my children might wear it, but alas I’ve had boys so I’m selling it on. It’s been the start of a wonderfully happy marriage and I hope it will be part of yours too.

Alterations

Added the breast cups as shown in picture so it could be worn without a bra and also altered for my height.
