The Dress

I purchased and wore this Jenny Packham Nicole dress for my wedding photos and ceremony. I tried on a lot of dresses and fell in love with this one. The silhouette is very modern and flattering and the fabric moves wonderfully. The real standout here is the beadwork and design. Throughout the dress, the designer clearly put a lot of thought into the beading - beautiful pattern on the bust and standout waistline (you won't need to buy a beaded belt!), a butterfly-esqe pattern in the back and these "pin-stripe" going down the length of the skirt to create such a beautiful line. The bottom has a lovely art-deco fan design. It's really a beautifully detailed dress.

Also, I had the hardest time wrapping my head around sizing - I wear a size S/0/2 in J.Crew, Gap, Banana Republic and most other brands. Please ask any questions - I want this dress to go to someone who will love it!

Additionally, for cleaning, I used the authorized Jenny Packham/Saks vendor - J. Scheer. I did not skimp on spending money on having this dress fully cleaned and restored. They determined that some beading was loose and to reinforce a torn bustle - they fixed it all. I always knew that this dress should be worn and enjoyed by another bride so it is in a pristine condition.

Alterations

I purchased this dress from Saks Fifth Avenue in New York and a Saks seamstress worked on all the alterations. The alterations made were slight: 1. Cups were added (can be easily removed), 2. The v-line was closed up less than an inch - I don't have the goods to show off ;) - and the seamstress added MORE beading so you can't tell, 3. The front of the skirt was raised (this was done from the waist so no beading on the bottom was sacrificed), and 4. A 3-point bustle was added.
