The Dress

I REALLY wanted a designer dress, but I didn't want to pay thousands for it. I happened across a store in Texas that sells "try-on" sample dresses once they've been discontinued. Once I saw the dress, I knew it was the one without hesitation! Pronovias Spain dresses usually start at $3000+, so I was thrilled to get this dress for $1400! Although, it had been tried on before, it was in great condition!

The low back, fine beading and details, the "long but not too long train", and the form fit of the dress are all items that made me fall in love with this gown! There is also sequence in the dress which give a subtle flashiness and character to the dress.

The dress was a size 8 (I believe), so I spent money on alterations to have it taken down to a 4. I also paid to have a bustle added. Below the butt is a small button and on the inside of the lining of the skirt is the thread piece to loop or hook around the button. This was a great move because I needed it after a night of dancing! The fitting of this dress is meant to hug and squeeze everything in, so the top feels tight! This is a plus because no bra or push up is needed with the dress which is necessary for the low back.

I did notice a small stain on the inside skirt a few inches up. Of course, this would never be visible from the outside of the dress, but I wanted to disclose any flaws in the condition of the dress. There were also a few strings that may need trimming near the base, but again, nothing noticeable or irreparable!

I'm actually so sad to be selling this dress because I love it so much! But, now that the wedding is over, it is serving no purpose sitting in its gown bag all alone. I pray that it brings you as much joy on your big day as it did mine!

Alterations

I had the dress taken in to a size 4 from a size 8. I had the length taken up so that it would fit someone my height (5'5" and 5'7" in heels). I also had a bustle added to the dress and the straps reinforced.
