The Dress

This is a skirt being sold with out the top pictured in the photos above. This is a beautiful, full and flowing skirt with a silk lining, tulle underskirt that adds a bit of volume and a chiffon top layer. There is a train that creates a lovely flow to the back of the skirt. I love the silhouette of this skirt as it is striking, but not overly formal. It is high waisted enough to be worn with many different bridal tops. There are no hooks for a bustle in this skirt. There is however a loop hidden in the layers in the back that can be used to hold up the train when walking.

On sizing, I believe I purchased this at a size 10, and it went down to a 6 with alterations. However, in the alteration the original tag was removed and I have since misplaced it so I am not totally sure what the original purchase size was. Now it fits just above my natural waist, across my ribs at 26 inches.

Alterations

This skirt was altered from its original size to fit my waistline at about 26 inches. The hight of this skirt brings the tightest point slightly above the natural waistline. The clasp in the back is a hook and eye and could be brought in or out a bit either direction without too much alteration. Some material was taken out of the back when it was brought in so it could not be more than an inch larger I would guess. The hem of the skirt was brought up a few inches to fit my height at 5'6. It ended up feeling just a bit long in the front so if you are a little bit taller I think this could work without alterations, depending on your preferences.
