The Dress

This dress has a stunning handkerchief tulle skirt which creates a beautiful folds of fabric with horsehair trimming. The bodice is fitting satin boat neckline without sleeves. The simplicity against the bigger volume of the tulle creates a very elegant and fairytale silhouette. It's also really light (perfect for summer) and easy to move in due to the tulle fabric used. The back is zipped up but has satin covered buttons running down it. Where the satin underskirt has touched the ground it is slightly marked but will be removed if dry cleaned. The waist is accentuated with tiny alternating silver sequins and beads. Underneath the tulle is a bright white satin skirt with a small train that the tulle flows over.

The shape of the dress is particularly stunning and unique and certainly gave a classic princess feel while remaining completely modest. I loved the simplicity of embellishments (limited to the slight tiny sparkles at the waistline) which emphasised the beautiful flow of the soft fabric and the way it moved as I walked. Particularly pretty falling in a waterfall way from behind.

Alterations

It's been altered to fit me to floor length (5ft3 with a small 2.5 inch heel). It originally had a sparkly gem belt but this was removed (to slightly elongate the bodice) and tiny sequins and sparkly beads added around the whole waist line. As a result of this you can see very slightly the place where the belt was originally stitched (but only if looking for it!)

Several layers of net were removed from under the tulle to prevent it being overly 'poofy' so now the main volume comes from the waves of tulle.
