The Dress

Inspired by Shakespeare's Midsummer Night Garden (apparently), I absolutely LOVED wearing this gorgeous dress. I didn't want to go super traditional, so I absolutely loved this 'gold' version of Jenny Packham's Hermia dress as it was just a little 'different'. I've had soooooo many compliments since, and as the sun shone on my wedding day, each of the hand-sewn embellishments caught the light and I just sparkled every time I moved. I felt so glamorous all day!

Although it's heavily embellished with metallic beading detail, it is not heavy at all to wear (I danced all night), and the relaxed and flattering fit will allow you to eat, move and enjoy your day while looking and feeling a million dollars. It's cut means it hugs to any size, and it fitted me both 9 months before the wedding when I bought it, and after losing a stone at wedding time.

The sheer tulle back and is beautiful, and the illusion neckline meant I easily wore a strapless bra underneath.

I only wore the dress for eight hours on a dry (and very sunny) day, so it is still in very good condition, but priced to account for the following minor imperfections: a few small 'holes' on the very bottom of the outer tulle layer (it's super delicate), and some slight fraying of a small bit of beading (both not really noticeable when the under dress is on, plus super close to the bottom anyway- pics included), and a few very slight areas of discolouring on the very bottom of the under layer at the bottom of the dress (again not really noticeable and could probably be removed if professionally cleaned or by shortening - pics included). There are no obvious missing beads or sequins, which reflects how well the dress is made.

I also wore an embellished belt with my dress on the day, which is pictured here and will be included as I felt it just helped emphasise a small waist.

Jenny Packham is one of the most acclaimed British wedding dress designers, so I would think it would be easily re-sellable. This dress really was a dream to wear, and I hope that another lucky bride can get as much enjoyment out of it as I did.

Alterations

I am 5ft 4" and I wore 4-inch platform heels. The dress was just touching the ground. No other alterations.
