The Dress

This was actually the very fist dress I tried on. First of all, I absolutely fell in love with how comfortable it was. I could have slept in this thing! I tore it up all night on the dance floor without a single concern. In addition, I had a wonderful seamstress who bustled the dress beautifully so that I could wear the train down during the ceremony and for pictures, then up for dancing and moving around.

Second, it is extremely flattering. I am larger up top and have always been self-conscious about it, but this dress just seems to hit all the right places. Originally, the back of the dress was only supported with very fine mesh connecting it to the cap sleeves, so I added a chiffon sash for a bit more support. I was thrilled with how it turned out, because not only did I feel more comfortable busting a move on the dance floor, but I didn't have to sacrifice the open back just because of how big my boobs are! The mesh in the front also helps with supporting bigger-chested ladies, and pushes the girls in just enough to make them look their best.

Third, the quality of this dress is unbelievable. The beaded cap sleeves are incredibly detailed, and add just enough zhush for someone who wanted something simple but special. They're probably my favourite part of this dress. The one problem I had with the mesh, however, is that it tore a little bit when I was getting into the dress. I sent the dress off to the Truvelle headquarters in Vancouver after the wedding so that they could repair and reinforce the mesh for subsequent use, and it turned out perfectly.

Alterations

I had the waist taken in four centimeters right before the wedding, and the mesh shoulders raised two centimeters. I also had a chiffon sash put in on the back to add some extra support, as the mesh alone was not as supportive as I would've liked. There was also a gorgeous 3-point bustle added in the back. The length has not been altered as I am 5'11 and wore 2" heels.
