The Dress

This was the last Trillium dress the bridal salon had! I love Austin Scarlett and was sad to hear he had stopped designing dresses so I searched far and wide to find his designs- all couture now because you cannot order custom sizing. The dress I purchased was a size 8 which I had cut down to fit a street size 4. The seamstress was amazing and created a fit that was more curve hugging and tapered down a bit more in the underarm area for a more flattering fit. The style is a mermaid fit with a super dramatic low back and artistic detail. The fabric is a silk basket weave- never seen this type of fabric before in my life! I had a wedding in the woods of the Catskills so a less fussy fabric was ideal. The dress is truly a work of art and I hope it makes another bride as happy as it made me! The dress will be steamed and lint rolled before it is shipped. Because the fabric is very unique, I would consult a dry cleaner before getting professionally cleaned. There are no stains throughout the dress (if there were, I would recommend a spot treatment only)- I only wore it for the ceremony.

Note: I am 5’ 7” and I wore my dress without shoes. There is still extra fabric in case I wanted to wear a heel.

Alterations

Altered the length to fit my height (5' 7"). Altered the bodice to fit my waist (street size 4). Altered the front and back of the bust area so that the neckline flowed right into the low back. Altered the lower waist to hug the hips more closely.
