The Dress
This listing is for a lace bodice + silk skirt + custom silk/lace belt (top and bottoms are separate).
Skirt label size: 4 -- Designer: Justin Alexander
Bodice label size: 2 -- Designer: Allure Bridals
For my wedding, I loved more than anything the idea of being able to wear something really special and classic for the Ceremony, and then surprise my guests with an outfit change for the Reception. These stunning bridal separates give you the flexibility of doing that without having to spend thousands of extra dollars on two completely different dress.
This listing includes the sheer/lace bodice that I wore with the skirt and custom belt for my ceremony. It's so delicate, romantic and classy. The skirt also has pockets, so perfect to keep a tissue if you tear up during the ceremony :)
This skirt is made of Mikado Silk - which is a luxurious type of silk that has a heavier weight - therefore an amazing choice if you want to have a bit more structure. However it keeps you feeling cool and fresh which is ideal. As silk, it has a slight sheen that makes it stand out as it subtly glows when the light hits it.
The skirt has custom bustling sewn in. This style is called the "Ballroom Bustle" and tends to transform the dress silhouette from the back, essentially making the train disappear altogether. With this bustle, it doesn't even look like the dress has been bustled at all, but rather gives the illusion that it was a floor-length gown all along. This style is the most expensive given how intricate it is to sew in - but it was 100% worth it because it looked beautiful!
Alternatively, if you don't want to bustle at all, there is a wrist loop sewn in at the middle of the train under the skirt. Since the skirt has a nice weight to it, it really looks beautiful when draped over your wrist like this too.
Lastly, this comes with a custom belt made of the same Mikado Silk in ivory. It includes metal clasp closures along with special Lace Appliques in the back.
The bodice top has a sheer front with beautiful, delicate lace appliques. Custom cups were sewn in so you don't have to worry about wearing a bra. The back is also sheer, with an open back and stunning ivory buttons going all the way down. This top was slightly customized by having additional lace sewn into the front/chest area. This bodice also has 3 snaps underneath, making it simple to unsnap when needing to use the restroom.
It honestly was the most incredible gown and I felt so beautiful and comfortable in it. I received so many compliments - and people are still talking about how awesome it was that I was able to wear two different tops with the skirts. It's so unique! I wish I could hold on to it, but my husband and I live in a very small Manhattan apartment, and there's really just no room.
Alterations
