The Dress

I bought the Melanie dress for my dreamy garden wedding in October 2017. It was the first dress I tried on from The Dress Theory and after trying a number of other dresses on, I kept coming back to it. Handmade to order from Israel, the delicate lace and embroidery is just so elegant, it’s beautiful. It’s a two-piece: a bodysuit and skirt. The bodice has a boat neckline and low back, the lace is double-layered and beaded. The skirt is a flowy double-layered skirt. No stains or tears. The dress was only worn for a few hours and was professionally cleaned and preserved a week after the wedding. I opened the preservation box on September 2019 to give my sister-in-law my veil as her ‘something borrowed’. Instead of re-preserving, I think this dress deserves to be worn again to make another bride feel beautiful and make her wedding that much more special and memorable!

Alterations

-Hemming to my height (62in) + heels (4in).
-Long sleeves shortened (1in).
-Tailored boat neckline.
-Built in support cups removed.
