The Dress

Berta 18-108 F/W 2018 collection, delivered to me on May 30, worn for my wedding on June 28, 2019 in Tulum, Mexico. Dry cleaned the day I returned to the US on July 3rd. I have all the receipts :)

The Signature Berta fit!
Size 42 (US 4-6), barely altered.

Sheer, delicate lace overlay over a nude bodice with floral appliqués, featuring a V-neck plunging neckline (with a nude illusion mesh panel for structure) and delicate yet sturdy straps. This form-fitting wedding gown features and open back and a long train. There is actually an additional sheer layer sandwiched between the lace and the nude lining with gemstone embellishment that sparkles beautifully from within, so as to not be overdone. This differentiates it from all the other lace overlay dresses out there.

This is the same dress that Billie Faiers wore for her wedding in the Maldives in March 2019. Tons of gorgeous pics online.

I was so tired of trying on bulky wedding dresses that made me look three sizes bigger than I am, I wanted something that showed off my curvy slim figure, but didn’t require padding and undergarments and boob tape etc. Berta is the way to go, sexy yet classy.

Built-in nude bodysuit with snaps. The dress looks like it’s just floating over your body.

I cringed at paying retail price for this dress, but I absolutely had to have it, so I’d love for another bride to have their dream dress at a much more affordable price! :)

And I found the best (softest!) $55 veil on Etsy, 118 inch cathedral length, “diamond white” color. Shipped in 2 days. No one could tell it wasn’t designer!

Alterations

Alterations done by Ultimate Bride in Chicago. The straps were shortened at the shoulder about 1 inch, can be let back out again. Removed the bulky padded cups, and instead the seamstress took in the under-bust seams to provide structure and built-in lift for the girls! I only needed stick-on nipple covers, so comfortable. (I’m a 32D/34C)
Hem was shortened for me to 5’ 9.75” (I am 5’7” and was wearing 2.75” Gianvito Rossi heels). Hidden bustle hook added under the tush for dancing! Train was kept as is.
