The Dress

The Laynie dress by Rebecca Ingram is such a gorgeous dress and I fell in love with her as soon as I put it on my body - I turned to face the mirror in the shop and just felt like Jessica Rabbit in it! Ha!

The fabric is so thick and supportive (I wore it in the Greek heat for my wedding, so the fact it's strapless made it so much more comfortable. I also wore it with an underskirt which kept my legs free to move)

The lace detailing on the bodice and hemline adds just enough detail without taking away from the star of the show which is the shape. There are covered buttons that run all the way down the back of the dress right to the tip of the teardrop train (another detail I fell in love with was that the train is a unique shape, not the classic round style... I got so many compliments on that alone)
There are little sequins all over the bodice which look beautiful when they're caught in the light!

The dress has been altered to include a bustle for dancing and also an ivory loop to carry the train in your hand.
There are also breast cups sewn into the dress (easily removed) but they gave me a bust that I don't usually have so I loved them!

The pictures of the dress have a standard underskirt underneath which isn’t included in the sale. It can also be worn without an underskirt for a less ‘kicked out’ look at the bottom.

I'm sad to be letting my wedding dress go, but she deserves to be worn again and again in my opinion because she's just too beautiful to be left in a dress bag.

She hasn’t been dry cleaned, however she was in mint condition at the end of my wedding - No real damage and just the usual patches of dirt underneath the dress that was picked up when dancing the night away! I have been reassured she will be back to perfect condition once dry cleaned.

Alterations

The dress has been altered to include a bustle for dancing and also an ivory loop to carry the train in your hand.

There are also breast cups sewn into the dress (easily removed)

The dress was bought a size 14 - But my seamstress advised it is now more of a size 12 post alterations.
