The Dress

The 'Olsen' dress is known as Rime’s most iconic wedding dress. From her 2015 collection and still going strong, Olsen falls into Rime's 'Timeless' collection. Rime describes her designs as being for brides that are rock’n’roll yet sophisticated, mixing French savoir-faire and top-notch quality.

Handmade in France, it really is an absolutely amazing dress, that I totally loved from the moment I saw it. 'Olsen' is a white crêpe dress, with French Calais lace. It has flattering panelling that gives it a modern and edgy look, as well as looking very feminine and bridal. The long lace sleeves look elegant and unique and the back detail is stunning and enhances a very flattering silhouette.

The detail on this dress is outstanding and delicate. The shape of the boat line neck is beautiful and the crêpe back buttons and scalloped edge of the lace, around the back, is equally as flattering.

The dress is beautifully fitted to the hips and then the skirt flows with a relaxed fit. There is a small train on the dress, which I loved but it could be altered if wanted shorter. I had a bustle fitted on the dress so that the train was off the floor, for dancing. I also had a wrist ribbon fitted under the skirt, to easily pick it up when walking.

I brought this dress in January 2019, for my wedding in August 2019, for £3,200 from The Mews in Clifton, Bristol. This dress fitted me perfectly and I had so many compliments on the dress, I felt absolutely amazing in it.

The dress was professionally cleaned after the wedding and has come out spotless. There is no damage to any of the lace or any discolouring to any of the crêpe and it looks as good as new. This dress is a size 10, although I am normally a high street size 8. I am 5' 3' and the dress skimmed the floor with 2 inch heels on.

Alterations

The hem was taken up, so it skimmed the floor for my height of 5'3' with heels on. Nothing else was altered, as the dress fitted perfectly.
