The Dress

This gown radiates simple elegance. It is a lined alabaster/ivory silk-dupioni that includes a single layer of tulle. The bodice is lightly coresetted to maintain structure. The dress falls to the tops of shoes (mine were the same color and fabric as the gown) and has a gorgeous train in back, which can be gathered and buttoned for dancing. The bodice is adorned with horizontal silk cording and buttons up the back with round wedding buttons.

This dress was amazing to wear. It is formal and structured, yet it permits easy movement. I had a blast dancing in it and wore it all evening. I was married in the fall and the color was perfect with my autumn color scheme, which included golds, reds, and greens.

The gown is in excellent condition. Two of the wedding buttons are missing but are easily purchased from Etsy or a wedding boutique. Immediately after my wedding weekend, I had it dry cleaned and placed (with cardboard and papers to maintain its structural integrity) in a protective box, which it has been in since.
