The Dress
The perfect mix of classic and unique. This beautiful strapless ballgown-style dress was calling my name right from the start. It's in a lovely, warm ivory tone and the material is simple but luxurious -- peau de soie (French silk with a strong crossgrain that gives the dress a little bit of luster and great hold and structure). The simple silhouette is made unique with the asymmetrical, almost architectural bow at the front -- not too feminine, but gives the dress some personality. It has a train, which bustles very nicely, especially because of the way the fabric holds its form. I felt beautiful, comfortable, and elegant all night. Worn once and cleaned by wedding dress specialists.
Alterations
I had the sides of the bodice taken in about 1/2" total, and the length of the dress taken up about 2"-3" for my 5'-8" height with 2" heels (total height of 5'-10" should give plenty of flexibility for anyone who wants to shorten).
